The Playford Plodders formed in 2013 to teach English Country Dance as recorded by Mr. John Playford in his English Dancing Master, first published in 1651.  We meet each week to learn dances and perform at San Diego area Renaissance Faires as well as folk dance events sponsored by the International Dance Association.  We dance to exercise, but mostly, we dance to have fun!

The Playford Plodders exist under the umbrella of the International Dance Association of San Diego County, a non-profit organization sponsored by the San Diego Park and Recreation Department that is dedicated to promoting and encouraging dancing as a social recreation for the public.  As such, we keep a roster of board members and attend monthly meetings to ensure we're fullfilling our obligations as a member organization.
